Our History

Being led of the Holy Spirit to do evangelism Bishop Dawn Sutherland began her own ministry in the community of Days Mountain which she resides, she held prayer meetings, fasting service and bible studies on her veranda and under trees.

After a period of time her ministry began to grow and in 1988 the Christian Community Church was born. Bishop Sutherland got a piece of land to lease, a temporary structure was established using slob and roofed by a tarpaulin borrowed from the urban Development commission (UDC). This structure  was also used for a crusade held.

The church grew and with contribution from believers a concrete foundation was made. Still without a permanent structure the church remained under the tarpaulin until rain destroyed it. After a few years a team of missionaries from the United States who were referred to her erected a permanent building along with additional seating within three and a half days

The church continued to grow and later through prayer and fasting and by  prophetic words the  name  Christian Community Church was changed to the Ebenezer (hitherto God has help us) Community Church. We can say that we have come this far by faith, leaning on the lord and as our name suggest hitherto the lord has helped us.

What We Beleive

We believe that the holy bible is revealed and inspired word of God ~1 Tim. 3:4~

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Crucified, died, buried and rose from the dead for the remission of or sins ~John 3:16, 1 Cor. 15: 3-4~

We believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to Judge the world.

We believe in the baptism of the holy spirit, the evidence of speaking in tongues and present day work of the Holy Spirit through gifts, anointing, miracles, signs and wonders.

We believe in the confession and forgiveness of sins ~Romans 10:9-10~.

We believe in the healing and restoration of the wounded and hurting, receiving acceptance and love through the power of the Word and the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

We believe in Tithes and Offering to support the ministry of God and the ministry of the church.

  • To put Intercessory Prayer and warfare covering over the church, community, parish and nation to establish proper relationship between God and the individual person.
  • To equip believers as responsible Christian Leaders for family, community, and nation (Eph. 6: 11-13)
  • To edify people to become mature men and women of God with integrity and stability.
  • To evangelize the lost and unchurched (Matt. 24:14).
  • To bring wounded and hurting people to a place of healing and restoration that they may discover their identity in Jesus and become productive in all areas of their lives.
